What made you want to apply for a director position for THON 2025?

Every year I have been involved in this organization, I have seen the magical ways it has changed so many lives. This has motivated me to want to put in more time and effort each year to make the biggest difference I can for children and families impacted by childhood cancer. We will continue to fight until one day we can dance in celebration.

What are your responsibilities as a THON Director?

The Finance Committee supports the THON community in its fundraising efforts by securely processing all monetary donations to uphold the integrity of THON. In addition to tracking all organization totals, Finance also finalizes the THON Weekend total, the monetary representation of the THON Community’s year-long fundraising efforts.

What do you want to implement in your position this year that differs from years past?

I have focused on implementing new ways to analyze data from previous years to now make decisions that benefit our organization.

What makes your committee so cool, fun, and/or important?

One of the coolest things about the Finance Committee is getting to work diligently all year to count the THON total, and then see it go up THON Weekend. This is one of the most surreal feelings in the world.

What are the overall goals you hope to reach with your committee for THON 2025?

I hope to create a welcoming environment for every volunteer where they can feel comfortable to be their authentic self. I am excited about all of our events this year, and I hope all captains and committee members help us count every cent of the total!

Why do you THON?

I THON so no family has to see a medical bill, and they can truly just worry about the health of their child. This is one of the most stressful moments of their life, and they should never have to decide if their child can get treatment or not based on financial reasons. I am also continuously motivated every year by seeing our volunteer’s true love and passion for this organization.

What’s your favorite THON memory?

My favorite memory is my first THON when I had the opportunity to start my first shift on the floor for dancer stand. My brother was dancing in THON that year, so getting to share that moment after he introduced me to this amazing organization was so special.

Per Onward State tradition, if you could be any dinosaur, which one would you be and why?

I would choose a velociraptor because they are fast and could outrun all the other dinosaurs.
