At Least One Penn Stater Is Guaranteed To Win Super Bowl LIX

WE ARE…going to the Super Bowl, folks!

After beating the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship, the Philadelphia Eagles clinched a spot in this year’s Super Bowl and will once again face off against the Kansas City Chiefs, who defeated the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night in the AFC Championship.

Given that both teams have at least one Penn Stater on their roster — the Eagles with three and the Chiefs with one — a Penn Stater will hoist the Lombari Trophy, no matter what team comes out on top.

Running back Saquon Barkley, who signed with the Eagles in March, had a stellar performance this season, securing touchdown after touchdown almost every game. After accomplishing 118 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns on 15 carries over the weekend, Barkley holds 442 yards and five scores on the ground through three playoff games.

Along with Barkley, the Eagles’ roster includes two other Penn Staters, wide receiver Jahan Dotson and cornerback Tariq Castro-Fields. Dotson secured one catch for 2 yards and a touchdown in the playoffs. After starting the season with the Carolina Panthers, Castro-Fields is on the Eagles’ practice squad.

Offensive lineman Hunter Nourzad is the only Penn Stater with the Chiefs and has played in one game this season during Week 18 against the Denver Broncos.

The Super Bowl will take place in New Orleans at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, at the Caesars Superdome.
