Penn State Student Affairs Issues Warning Against Skulls Fraternity

The Parents Program for Penn State Student Affairs urged parents and students to avoid attending events held by the Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity, better known as Skulls.
Throughout the Zoom call, the group listed a total of seven fraternities currently suspended, as well as why each frat was suspended.
“Suspended through fall 2027 for hazing violations,” the group said about Skulls. “Continuing to operate unsanctioned by the university or international organization. We strongly recommend students do not engage with this chapter.
“Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity right now are not recognized by their organization or Penn State but are supported by their alumni,” they continued. “We’re always nervous about this organization, and they’re suspended until fall 2027, but we still get concerning reports about this organization. So, if you ever hear about your student talking about Skulls, which is their nickname, we definitely would encourage you to tell them to not join.”
While the group went on to discuss the rest of the fraternities that are suspended, no other fraternity was issued the same warning as Phi Kappa Sigma.
Recruitment for fraternities at Penn State has opened and will run through mid-March at the latest, though primary bids will be issued by mid-February.
