Penn State Wrestling’s Josh Barr Named Big Ten Freshman Of The Week

Penn State wrestling’s Josh Barr collected the 10th weekly award for the Nittany Lions this season after being named Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Wednesday.

Barr continued his impressive rookie season, picking up two Big Ten victories against Michigan and Maryland. Barr posted a 3-2 tie-breaking win against No. 2 Josh Cardenas of Michigan. Barr then tallied four takedowns against Maryland senior Chase Mielnik.

The perfect weekend brought Barr’s record to 12-1 on the season with five pins, four techs, and a major.

The Nittany Lions will be in action next against Ohio State at 7 p.m. on Friday, February 14. The dual will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.
