Former Penn State Men’s Soccer Star Peter Mangione Called Up To FC Cincinnati First Team

Former Penn State men’s soccer player Peter Mangione was called up to FC Cincinnati’s first team via short-term agreement from its reserve team, FC Cincinnati 2, the club announced Tuesday.
Mangione signed with FC Cincinnati 2 in February 2024. He played all of last season with the club, helping lead the team to an Eastern Conference regular season title. He also participated in the first team’s preseason camp, making appearances in all four of its preseason contests. This is Mangione’s first first-team call-up.
Mangione played for Penn State from 2020 to 2023, scoring 31 goals and dishing out 16 assists in the process. He finished as the 13th all-time goalscorer at Penn State and won the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year award in 2021 and 2023. He also earned a spot on the first-team All-Big Ten roster in 2022 and 2023.
Mangione will join FC Cincinnati ahead of its CONCACAF Champions Cup opening tie against FC Motagua in Honduras at 10 p.m. on Wednesday.
