Adam & The Armadillos Rock Rodeo Theme Hour At THON 2025

Central Pennsylvania’s finest, Adam & the Armadillos, took to the Bryce Jordan Center stage in the early morning hours of Sunday at THON Weekend 2025.
The band dived into their set with Cody Johnson’s “Me and My Kind.” Penn State social media influencer Nicky the Cowboy even introduced the band, setting off a string of “We Are” chants in the process.
1999 hit “Something Like That” by Tim McGraw followed. The band introduced the song as a “summer song,” noting that the harsh Pennsylvania winter can’t downplay the good vibes inside of THON.
Adam and the Armadillos continued with “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” by Brooks & Dunn. They urged the dancers to show some movement with the upbeat song. The choice definitely increased energy in the seated crowd.
The band jumped forward two decades from the previous cuts with their rendition of Chris Young’s 2011 song “You.”
Adam and the Armadillos fired up the BJC by shouting out all the cowboys and cowgirls in the crowd before beginning their cover of Toby Keith’s 1993 hit “Should’ve Been a Cowboy.” The band recaptured some of the energy from the dancers on the floor before heading into an original song.
The group played their 2024 single “Thinkin’ Bout You” as a few people waved their phones from the upper sections of the BJC.
Frontman Adam Yarger amped up the crowd with a “We Are” chant before heading into Tyler Childer’s “Feathered Indians.” Yarger even changed the line “looking over West Virginia” to “looking over Happy Valley.”
The group’s intense opening to their next song, Luke Combs’ “Lovin’ On You.” The catchy chorus made it the most receptive song of the set in the crowd to that point.
“Everything I Love” by Morgan Wallen followed before the group mellowed out the set for a second with Chris Stapleton’s 2020 song “You Should Probably Leave.”
Yarger and the band continued their set with Willie Nelson’s 1980 smash hit “On the Road Again” as the BJC crowd bounced their Greek letters to the beat of the drum.
The group next played “Chicken Fried” by the Zac Brown Band, which the crowd sang along the opening lines and bridge with Yarger. “Chicken Fried” proved to be the energy-lifter of the set as the BJC navigated an extremely early morning.
Adam and the Armadillos disguised “Revival” by Zach Bryan as their set closer at around 5:30 a.m. More phone flashlights waved throughout the upper and lower bowls of the BJC as the crowd danced along to the country hit.
The group stayed on stage for one more song and played Kenny Chesney’s “I Go Back” as an encore. Their set concluded at 5:41 a.m. as the final sunrise of THON Weekend 2025 loomed over the horizon.
The band left the stage with a final expression of gratitude to THON and Penn State.
