Relating The Fray’s THON 2025 National Act Performance To Penn State

The Fray entertained the Bryce Jordan Center as THON 2025’s national act. The band performed many songs while on the stage and all of the songs stayed lingering in our heads for the rest of THON Weekend.
With the band’s music fresh in the minds of Penn Staters, we decided to change the lyrics to some of its songs to connect them to the Penn State experience.
‘How To Save A Life’
Some sort of window to your right (Some sort of classroom to your right)
As he goes left, and you stay right (He goes to the frat house and you stay in your room)
Between the lines of fear and blame (Between the lines of blue and white)
You begin to wonder why you came
Where did I go wrong?
I lost a friend (I lost a situationship)
Somewhere along in the bitterness (Somewhere along Frat Row)
And I would have stayed up with you all night (at THON)
Had I known how to save a life
‘You Found Me’
I found God on the corner of First and Amistad (I found God, right outside of Willard)
Where the west was all but won (Where the scooters almost hit me)
All alone, smoking his last cigarette (All alone, he was preaching)
I said, “Where you been?” He said, “Ask anything”
Where were you when everything was fallin’ apart? (Where were you when Penn State lost to Ohio State?)
All my days were spent by the telephone (All my days spent at the tailgate)
That never rang and all I needed was a call (You never came, all I needed was a dirty sprite)
That never came to the corner of First and Amistad (That never came to lot 28)
Lost and insecure (Drunk and insecure)
You found me, you found me
Lyin’ on the floor (Lyin’ in a bush)
Surrounded, surrounded (Surrounded by freshmen)
Why’d you have to wait?
Where were you? Where were you?
Just a little late
You found me, you found me
‘Over My Head’
Let’s rearrange
I wish you were a stranger, I could disengage (I wish you were a stranger, I could unadd)
Just say that we agree and then never change (Just say that we snap and then we never talk)
Soften a bit until we all just get along
But that’s disregard
Find another friend, and you discard (Find another sneaky, and then you ghost)
As you lose the argument in a cable car (As you lose the argument in the CATA bus)
Hanging above as the canyon comes between (Hanging on as the bus turns onto Curtin Road)
And everyone knows I’m in
Over my head, over my head
With eight seconds left in overtime (With one stop left)
She’s on your mind, she’s on your mind
Everyone knows I’m in
Over my head, over my head
With eight seconds left in overtime (With one stop left)
She’s on your mind, she’s on your mind
‘Look After You’
Some things we don’t talk about (Basketball, we don’t talk about)
Rather do without and just hold the smile (Rather do without, and just not see a loss)
Falling in and out of love (Falling in and out of being a fan)
Ashamed and proud of, together all the while (Ashamed and embarrassed, together all the while)
You can never say never
While we don’t know when
But time and time again (But game and game again)
Younger now than we were before (Losing more than we did before)
Don’t let me go
Don’t let me go…
‘Time Well Wasted’
Do you still talk to our old friends? (Do you still talk to our old dorm floor friends?)
Do you still think about us on the weekends? (Do you still think about us at FNFs?)
And we don’t watch the same sunset (And we don’t crawl to the same bars)
And even though we know it’s for the best
It doesn’t mean I miss you any less
Never thought we’d get lost (Never thought we’d fight)
Never thought we’d get broken (Never thought we’d end)
Never thought we’d move on (Never thought we’d get with other people)
But it was gone and we know it
Never would’ve worked out
And even though we couldn’t save it
It was time well wasted
‘Hurricane’
She’s so fierce and full of that fire (The Nittany Lion so fierce and full of that fire)
What’s a boy to do? (What’s a PSU fan to do?)
She yells and I crumble, she’s got the power (He does 46 push-ups and I crumble, he’s got the power)
She’s barely five foot two (He’s barely 6′)
She’s a hurricane (He’s a Nittany Lion)
I see the waves crashing in the harbor (I see the people raising their pompoms in the crowd)
Just beyond the break (Just beyond the stadium lights)
I should run and hide with the others (I should sing and jump with the others)
But I can’t look away
She’s a hurricane (He’s a Nittany Lion)
And I hear thunder (I hear roaring)
But I won’t run, I won’t run
