Report: Former Penn State Quarterback Matt McGloin Resigns At Boston College

Oh, never mind, then.
Former Penn State football quarterback Matt McGloin resigned from his job as an offensive analyst at Boston College due to family reasons, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel. After McGloin resigned from his role on the Lackawanna County Board of Commissioners, that’s the second job he’s quit this week.
McGloin came to Happy Valley in 2009 before competing for the starting spot in 2010 and split the starting role with Rob Bolden in 2011. He was the true starter during the 2012 season, which served as Bill O’Brien’s first year as head coach.
After college, McGloin signed with the then-Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent, where he spent four years in the backup job. He signed with the Eagles, Texans, and Chiefs before going to the New York Guardians of the XFL in 2019.
McGloin originally went to Boston College to join former Penn State head coach O’Brien, who was named head coach of the Golden Eagles in February 2024.
Presently, McGloin serves as an alumni-elected member of Penn State’s Board of Trustees.
