A member of a third Penn State fraternity was reportedly a part of the alleged cocaine trafficking operation centered around two off-campus fraternity houses.

According to the grand jury presentment, Kaden Howe, a member of Acacia at Penn State, bought cocaine from Mohammed Huraibi, a member of Delta Upsilon and one of the early members of the drug trafficking ring, on multiple occasions.

At first, Howe purchased smaller amounts for personal use, but Huraibi claimed that on a few occasions Howe “purchased larger amounts of cocaine to sell at his fraternity.”

The grand jury presentment found that once Huraibi started to distance himself from the drug trafficking business, Howe began buying cocaine directly from Thomas Robinson, one of the alleged leaders of the drug operation.

According to court records, Howe purchased cocaine packaged in plastic bags from Robinson between November 2024 and December 2024 and allegedly made deliveries for Robinson in October 2024.

Robinson was introduced to the drug operation’s ringleader, Agostino Abbatiello, through Huraibi, but eventually became one of the leaders of the drug operation himself, according to Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday.

Howe is facing two misdemeanors of intentional possession of a controlled substance and use or possession of drug paraphernalia. He was previously cited for violating State College’s noise ordinance after noise was allegedly audible beyond a property line.

Acacia — which was not named in Penn State’s or the Attorney General’s statement about the charges — was placed on indefinite organizational suspension on May 7, 2025, after Penn State found “credible reports of serious misconduct and hazing.”

The university launched its investigation into the fraternity’s indoctrination process in 2025, including reports of members seeking medical care following forced alcohol and tobacco consumption.

“Despite its suspension, the fraternity continues to operate as an unrecognized organization off-campus with the support of their international organization, removing the University’s ability to provide any oversight of activities at the privately owned, off-campus fraternity house,” Penn State said in a news release.

“Reports of concerning, high-risk behavior continue, and students and members of the community are strongly encouraged to avoid engagement with the group.”
