Creating Homemade Penn State-Themed Cocktails For Your State Patty’s

Let the fake holiday shenanigans commence, folks!

State Patty’s is finally here, and what better way to kick off the shenanigans than with some drinks inspired by Penn State?

Whether you’re out here celebrating, pregaming the bars or frats, heading to a house party, or just looking for something fun to sip on between rounds of “Rattlin’ Bog,” we’ve got you covered. Although these cocktails are anything but fancy, they’re easy and financially feasible for any college student.

These cocktails are packed with all the energy and flavor, so grab your crew, mix up a drink (or two), and let’s make this State Patty’s one for the books.

Beaver Canyon Crush

The first drink we concocted was orange-crush-inspired that will have you flooding Beaver Avenue before you even finish it. All you’ll need is vodka, cranberry juice, orange juice, lime juice, and some club soda, and then you’re set with a drink that will fuel you through the weekend. It’s a sweet and tangy drink with punches of citrus. Tip: If you used Pinnacle Whipped, it takes like an orange creamsicle.

Sanderson Slammer

Inspired by wrestling head coach Cael Sanderson, the Sanderson Slammer is the ultimate celebration in a glass. Grab some tequila, lemonade, an energy drink of your choice, and some triple sec, and you’re ready to take the weekend head-on. This one’s sure to be refreshing and as unbeatable as Sanderson and his team.

Neeli Bellini-Pudi

Raise a glass to Penn State’s leading lady with the Neeli Bellini-pudi. This sparkling cocktail consists of champagne, flavored vodka, and any juice (we went with mango). It’s light and refreshing, just like Bendapudi herself — until tuition bills hit. This one is my personal favorite.

Arnold Paterno

This mixture of spiked lemonade and iced tea honors former football coach Joe Paterno, with a twist on the iconic Arnold Palmer. Mix vodka, iced tea, and lemonade together, and you’re ready to secure the historic 409 wins (of cup pong, of course). This is the perfect drink to keep you refreshed and ready to take on whatever the night throws your way.

White Out Wipeout

This cocktail brings out our inner White Out…energy.

For this beverage, you’ll need rum (coconut rum recommended), coconut water, Sprite or Fresca, a splash of lime juice, and a lime to garnish. Within seconds, your White Out-in-a-cup is ready. Enjoy!

Have a fun and safe weekend, Penn State!
