Brainstorming Niche Penn State Party Themes

Are you hosting a party soon and need a theme? Whether it’s a birthday party or just a regular old gathering, we have you covered.
Our staff decided to brainstorm some more niche Penn State party themes that are definite crowd-pleasers — for the right people, of course.
We decided to take a look at some of our very niche ideas.
CAS 100
Are you looking for a unique party theme that will be interactive for your guests? Well, look no further. Hosting a CAS 100-themed party will get everyone on their feet (literally). It is mandatory for everyone to prepare and present a speech on a certain topic to the entire group!
The host of the party may provide prompts of their choosing or they can be random. Bonus points if all the guests have to write speeches about why they love the host!
Dollar Dog Night
Grab your fellow glizzy-lovin’ goobers because it’s time for a Medlar Field at Lubrano Park feast! This party theme will ensure you have a full house, lawn, crib, or whatever you folks choose to call your stomping grounds.
People will be lining up out the door to get their hands on one of the wieners from your party. This theme allows you to get creative with your party games (and tricks). Your guests can do the 9/9/9 challenge and more! Who knows, you could break the record for dollar dogs eaten!
‘Sweat With Us’
Are you a gym bro and want to build your cake and eat some too on your birthday? Or just an average Joe who wants to hold their gym buddies accountable? Well, put your joggers and sweatbands on for a workout class-themed party.
This will surely get everyone fired up for a celebration to be remembered. You might even leave people questioning if it’s hot in here or if it is just your party.
Penn State Shirts
Picture this: a collaboration of S-Zone, convocation, and THON Pep Rally shirts all in one room. You lock eyes with another person in a matching S-Zone shirt, leading you to believe the invisible string theory is real. You folks meet as a result of this niche party theme and live happily ever after, providing the perfect opportunity for Onward State to write a love story about you. Seriously, let us know if this happens.
Anyways, here’s how this works: If you are single and ready to mingle, wear an S-Zone shirt. If you are in a situationship or just don’t know why that special person can’t commit, wear your convocation shirt. If you are one of the lucky ones in State College who have found your person, wear a THON Pep Rally shirt. Happy mingling, Penn Staters!
Zone Days
We want to take the concept of fraternal speed dating and apply it to the Penn State party scene. Imagine a house party where folks dress up as eager freshmen waiting to meet some frat bros. Everyone is dressed to the nines with backward hats and generic white shoes rotating to different rooms around the house.
Rhyme No Reason: Penn State Edition
This party theme is pretty simple. Find a friend and two Penn State words that rhyme, and you’re all set. Whoop and Bloop, Ace and Trace, the list goes on.
Dress Like A Head Coach
As a Big Ten school, we have several top-tier athletes and sports. There’s no better way to thank them than by dressing up as them. From James Franklin to Katie Schumacher-Cawley to Cael Sanderson, these GOATs deserve a toast or two at your next function.
Past BJC Performers
Over the years, the BJC has welcomed some pretty awesome celebrities and artists. From Billie Eilish to Drake, Travis Scott, and Taylor Swift, these icons rocked the BJC. Honor their legacy by hosting a BJC past performers party, where everyone dresses up as their favorite performer who has stopped in Happy Valley.
