[Photo Story] SPA Hosts First-Ever DJ Contest

On Friday night, SPA held its first-ever DJ contest.

Five local DJs performed at Alumni Hall for the chance to open for GloRilla in April. The famous American rapper will be performing at the Bryce Jordan Center on Thursday, April 3, serving as SPA’s first Bryce Jordan Center concert.

These DJs brought high energy that transcended from the stage to the crowd. Our photographers captured some of the best moments from the energetic night.

DJ Epic was first to perform. He had a strong opening set with songs from Drake and Sage the Gemini, to name a few.

The second act, Gusta, got the crowd moving with sounds from the UK Underground.

DJ Temi is a graduate student and DJs for the women’s basketball team. The crowd was jumping and matching his energy during his set. He played popular hits from NLE Choppa and Migos while adding some nostalgic hits in, too.

From Hawaii, DJ Benny got everyone in the room dancing during his set.

Last but certainly not least, DJ Kalz brought high energy and beats to the room. He played a remix of Zombie Nation’s classic “Kernkraft 400” and finished with songs from Travis Scott, GloRilla, and more.

The crowd remained energetic and lively throughout the night.

DJ Kalz was crowned the winner of the contest and will be opening for GloRilla in April.
