Matt DiMarsico’s Game-Winning Overtime Goal Earns No. 1 Spot On SportsCenter Top 10

Penn State men’s hockey is headed to the Frozen Four for the first time in program history.

After a backward pass from Charlie Cerrato, Matt DiMarsico buried the puck into the net to send the team to St. Louis and earn the No. 1 spot on the SportsCenter Top 10.

The goal was DiMarsico’s first goal of the game and third of the NCAA Allentown Regionals. Cerrato also picked up his second-night assist and fifth on the weekend.

This was at least the fourth time this season the Nittany Lions ended up on the SportsCenter Top 10. Previously, John Seifarth, JJ Weibusch, and a team goal all made the segment.

DiMarsico and the rest of the Nittany Lions will head to St. Louis to compete in the Frozen Four. In the semi-finals, they will face Boston University at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 10.
