Report: Bronny James To Retire From NBA & Accept Penn State Hoops Assistant Coaching Job

Los Angeles Lakers guard Lebron James Jr., or Bronny, will reportedly retire from professional basketball immediately and accept an assistant coaching job with Penn State men’s basketball, sources confirmed to Onward State.

James, who is in his rookie NBA season on his father LeBron James’ Lakers squad, has had enough of the professional lifestyle and wants to make a true difference on a struggling college squad after playing one sole season at USC.

“Nobody takes me seriously in the league, man,” James told Onward State. “While the league didn’t pan out for me, I want to return home and teach these guys everything there is to know about the work needed to hear your name called in the draft. Hopefully, we’ll win a title, too.”

James further expressed how the NBA lifestyle simply isn’t for him anymore.

“You know, being around the NBA literally my whole life, it gets to a point where the glamour and success is boring,” James said. “I would much rather spend some time out in Pennsylvania, where there really isn’t any good basketball at all, and try my best to fix whatever disaster Penn State hoops has going on.”

James also moderately commented on the fact that his superstar father is furious with his decision after mentoring and coaching him his whole life to reach the NBA. Reports say that James Sr. freaked out in the Lakers’ facility when James Jr. told him the news. After a ferocious fit where he threw a basketball right at Luka Dončić’s head, James Sr. said, “Go on. At least I still have Bryce [James].”

James will fly into the State College Regional Airport on Tuesday night to arrive in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

“Who knows, maybe in a couple of years I’ll take Mike Rhoades’ job,” James said with a sly smile and a sneaky wink. “I’m ready to sweat, Penn State.”

“Many of the individuals who orchestrated this dangerous precedent campaigned on transparency, fairness, equity, and a change of organizational culture. None of those values were present on April 23, the night the president was impeached.”
