Report: Penn State Football Guard JB Nelson Offically Enters Transfer Portal

Penn State football offensive lineman JB Nelson has officially entered the transfer portal, CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz reported Monday morning. Nelson was removed from the roster on Friday.

Nelson is the first player to enter the portal for the Nittany Lions this spring. Nelson played in all 16 in 2024 as a rotational player behind guards Vega Ioane and Sal Wormley. With Nelson now in the portal and Wormley declaring for the NFL Draft, there is now a gap at the second guard spot.

Nelson spent three seasons at Penn State and two at Lackawanna Community College. He played in 31 games as a Nittany Lion and made eight starts.
