Tussey Mountain WingFest To Kick Off June 19

Tussey Mountain’s annual WingFest will return for the summer starting on Thursday, June 19.

Dating back to 2003, the annual summer-long wing competition brings together local restaurants, businesses, vendors, local bands, and community members to the slopes to enjoy live music and local food. Due to high demand and popularity, the festival evolved into both a competition and a music festival, securing the title of “Best Place To See Live Music” by State College Magazine in 2015.

Every Thursday, for seven weeks, folks can try different local wings and decide who will be crowned this year’s “Wing King.” All seven winning restaurants will compete in the final round on the festival’s final day, Thursday, August 7.

Each paid guest will receive a ticket at the gate to vote for their favorite wing competitor, sending them to the finals. Each night, voting will end at 9:30 p.m., and the winner will be announced by 9:45 p.m.

Vendors, including Doan’s Bones BBQ, Rosie’s Pierogies, Crazy Carl’s Kettlecorn, and Rita’s Italian Ice, to name a few, will be in attendance each week. Other food options, such as barbeque, pizza, tacos, fresh-cut fries, chicken tenders, and nachos, will also be available.

Admission is $10 online or $15 at the gate for adults, $5 online or $8 at the gate for children ages 7 to 17, and free for children ages 6 and under. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. with the concert, and parking is free.

One WingFest ticket is $1 and can be used to purchase wings, beverages, chairlift rides, and more. Tickets from previous years are valid and never expire.

The lineup for this year’s WingFest includes:

  • Week One, June 19 — Uncaged Zac Brown Tribute with Caledonia
  • Week Two, June 26 — Pink Talking Fish with Pure Cane Sugar
  • Week Three, July 3 — Velveeta with The J.R. Mangan Band feat. Veronica
  • Week Four, July 10 — The Amish Outlaw with Felix & the Hurricanes
  • Week Five, July 17 — My Hero Zero with Coal Aly
  • Week Six, July 24 — The Ten Band with Ok Otter
  • Week Seven, July 31 — The Linkin Park Tribute Band with The Jaded Lips
