CATA To Introduce New Summer 2025 Bus Routes May 12

The Centre Area Transportation Authority (CATA) announced the launch of two new summer routes on Tuesday for the 2025 summer service period, running from Monday, May 12, to Sunday, August 17. The two new bus routes, University Parkway (UP) and Happy Valley (HV), will operate on a fixed summer service schedule.

The UP route will provide counterclockwise circulator services every Monday to Saturday, every 32 minutes. The route aims to enhance accessibility to popular destinations, such as downtown State College, Westerly Parkway Plaza, The Retreat, the Social Security Office, Easterly Parkway Elementary, and Penn State campus.

The HV route will operate from 10 p.m. to midnight Monday through Saturday and all day on Sundays. This route aims to complement the existing NV route during late-night hours.

The HV route will service six stops by traveling south on Atherton Street and Burrowes Road from Blue Course Drive, providing service directly from Walmart, Trader Joe’s, and Colonnade Boulevard to Martin Street and The Heights.
