Report: Philadelphia Eagles Decline Jahan Dotson Fifth-Year Option

The Philadelphia Eagles have declined former Penn State wide receiver Jahan Dotson’s fifth-year option, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz. This puts him in a contract year ahead of the 2025 NFL season.

Despite helping the Eagles win their second Super Bowl, Dotson had a limited role on the Eagles’ offense as he recorded 216 receiving yards on 19 receptions and didn’t score a single touchdown in the regular season. In the postseason, he recorded 53 receiving yards on three receptions and scored his first touchdown with the Eagles in their Wild Card game against the Green Bay Packers.

During his time at Penn State, Dotson was one of the best wide receivers with the Nittany Lions as he recorded 183 catches for 2,757 yards and 25 touchdowns. He ranks No. 4 in all-time receiving yards, No. 2 in receiving touchdowns, and No. 2 in catches in Penn State history before being drafted at No. 16 overall by the Washington Commanders in the 2022 NFL Draft.

On the Commanders, Dotson recorded 84 catches with 1,041 yards and 11 touchdowns in his two seasons there. After that, he was traded to the Eagles ahead of the 2024 season, winning the Super Bowl alongside former Nittany Lion Saquon Barkley.
