Eisenhower Auditorium Set To Host Neil deGrasse Tyson December 2

Astrophysicist, author, and science communicator Neil deGrasse Tyson will return to Penn State for “An Astrophysicist Goes to the Movies—Part 1” at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 2, at Eisenhower Auditorium.

During the show, Tyson will take look at various Hollywood blockbusters including “Star Wars,” “Frozen,” and “Titanic,” to name a few, to review them from a science-based perspective. The program will analyze concepts that crowd-favorite movies got both right and wrong.

Tyson last appeared at Penn State in 2011 to present the College of Engineering Arthur H. Waynick Memorial Lecture.

Tickets will go on sale starting at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30, for Center for the Performing Arts membership holders. The following day at 10 a.m., Arts Insiders subscribers will also have early access to purchase tickets. Starting at 10 a.m., on Friday, May 2, tickets will be open to the public.

Reserved-seat tickets are $186.75. Premium VIP package includes a premium seat, post-show Q&A, and an autographed poster with prices ranging from $60.75 to $100.75. Folks can save $4 per ticket when you order by phone or in person.

Tickets will be available online, by phone at 814-863-0255, or in person, weekdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Eisenhower Auditorium. Visit the Center for Performing Arts’ website for more information.
