Penn State Men’s Lacrosse To Face Colgate To Open NCAA Tournament

No. 5 seed Penn State men’s lacrosse will face Colgate to open its NCAA Tournament campaign against Colgate on Saturday, May 10. The winner of the Nittany Lions’ game against the Raiders will face the winner of No. 4 seed Ohio State against Notre Dame.

Penn State finished its season 10-4 and, despite a slow start to in-conference play, rattled off three wins to close the regular season and finish 3-2 in the Big Ten. Penn State beat Johns Hopkins 13-12 in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament before losing 10-8 to Maryland a round later. The Terps fell to Ohio State in the final.

Colgate isn’t mentioned in the Inside Lacrosse rankings, while Penn State is No. 7. The Raiders went 10-7 this season, with a 4-4 record in their conference. Despite entering as the No. 5 seed, Colgate rattled off three wins in the Patriot League Championships, culminating in a 17-10 win over Boston University in the final.
