Four Penn State Men’s Lacrosse Players Named To USA Lacrosse All-American Teams

Four Penn State men’s lacrosse players were named to the USA Lacrosse All-American Teams, the organization announced Thursday. This is the second consecutive year that four Penn Staters made All-American teams, as Matt Traynor, Alex Ross, Hunter Aquino, and Kevin Parnham were all recognized.
Traynor made the second-team All-American as the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year, as the midfielder scored 33 goals and 16 assists this season, leading the Big Ten in points and goals per game. He was recently selected as the No. 6 overall pick of the PLL College Draft by the New York Atlas.
Ross was recognized as a third-team All-American, crucial to Penn State’s defense this season. He compiled 24 ground balls, 21 caused turnovers, and one goal this season. This earned him a second-team All-Big Ten nod after securing a Defensive Player of the Week honor earlier in the season.
Midfielder Aquino and defender Parnham were the last two Penn State selections as they were named All-American honorable mentions. Aquino had an incredible rookie campaign as he scored 15 goals and 18 assists, for 33 points this season. This led him to be named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year.
As for Parnham, he was a key contributor on Penn State’s defense as he led the team in caused turnovers with 25, which ranks 14th in the nation. He was recently selected in the fourth round of the PLL College Draft by the Denver Outlaws.
The No. 5-ranked Nittany Lions will take on Colgate at 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, at Panzer Field in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The game will be televised on ESPNU.
