Penn State Men’s Lacrosse Star Matt Traynor Selected No. 6 Overall In PLL Draft

Penn State men’s lacrosse captain and star Matt Traynor was drafted No. 6 overall by the New York Atlas in Tuesday night’s Premier Lacrosse League draft.
Traynor played in 12 games this season, adding 33 goals and 16 assists. He was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year, consistently leading the Big Ten in points and goals per game.
Throughout his four-year Penn State career, the midfielder notched 111 goals and 30 assists. He ranks fifth all-time in Penn State’s scoring records and reached his career high goals and points per game this season against Johns Hopkins, recording seven goals and eight points.
Traynor and the Nittany Lions will be back in action on Saturday at home against Colgate to kick off the NCAA Tournament. Play will begin at 5 p.m.
