Penn State Announces Board Of Trustees Election Results

The Penn State Board of Trustees announced nine newly elected trustees to begin their terms on July 1.

For the agricultural trustees, Valerie Detwiler was re-elected, while Matthew D. Espenshade will join the board for his first time.

Tracy Riegel was re-elected for her current position as an at-large trustee.

Both Naren Gursahaney and Richard Sokolov were re-elected as business and industry trustees.

Ruby Bjalme was chosen as the student trustee for two-year term. Bjalme is a second-year student and Schreyer Honors student majoring in marketing, an NSO leader, and in the Presidential Leadership Academy.

Kelley Lynch, Uma Moriarity, and J. Gregory Pilewicz were elected as the three alumni trustees. Lynch received 4,942 votes, Pilewicz received 4,816, and Moriarity received 3,396.

The trustees will begin their terms on July 1.
