State College Borough Announces Parking Changes Ahead Of Memorial Day Weekend

Happy Memorial Day, folks!

With the holiday weekend approaching, the Borough of State College Parking Department will be lifting its current rule that prevents parking from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m.

The restriction will be lifted starting Friday, May 23, and will return at 6 a.m. on Monday, May 26.

While this rule will not be enforced, the other parking restrictions will stay in place for the duration of the weekend. These rules include:

  • Parking on lawns, sidewalks, driveways, in an intersection, or on a crosswalk,
  • Parking within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection⁠
  • Parking within 30 feet of a stop sign⁠
  • Parking over 12 inches from the curb⁠
  • Parking against traffic.

The borough reminds residents and guests that cars violating these restrictions above will be subject to ticketing and towing.
