Penn State Football Lands Five Star Players On Offense In New College Football 26 Game

EA Sports confirmed five Penn State football players who will be considered “stars” on the offensive side of the ball before the release of College Football 26 on July 10. The players are Drew Allar, Trebor Pena, Kyron Hudson, Nick Singleton, and Vega Ioane.

The confirmation comes with the announcement of over 2800 new plays and formations compared to College Football 25.

The video, where Singleton lined up wide with three offensive linemen in front of him, highlights Nittany Lions’ offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki’s creative approach to offense. This is also an allusion to the addition of real coaches being in the game this year. For Penn State, James Franklin, Jim Knowles, and Kotelnicki are all confirmed.

The video also confirmed five-star players on the Nittany Lions offense. In College Football 25, a star under the player marks them as an impact player. It’s an indicator of elite on-field talent, not tied to any specific gameplay boost, but it does mean the five players listed will be high overalls.

If College Football 26 follows the 25 formula, stars are typically reserved for players above an 87 overall. The reason five players on offense is a big deal for Penn State is the sheer numbers. At the release of College Football 25, the Nittany Lions only had six players on any side of the ball above or at an 87. Those players were Abdul Carter, Allar, Tyler Warren, Singleton, KJ Winston, and Kaytron Allen.

While players like Allar and Singleton were returning and expected to receive stars, for newcomers Trebor Pena and Devonte Ross, being an impact player before taking a snap for Penn State is surprising. If Allen gets his star again and Kyron Hudson gets on as well, the Nittany Lions could be looking at 7 impact players on the offense in College Football 26.
