Ace Baldwin Jr. & Zach Hicks Sign NBA Summer League Deals

Former Penn State men’s basketball players Ace Baldwin Jr. and Zach Hicks will play in the NBA Summer League after signing deals with the Memphis Grizzlies and Boston Celtics, respectively, Penn State announced Friday morning.

After playing three seasons at VCU, Baldwin followed Mike Rhoades to Happy Valley and increased his production in two seasons with the Nittany Lions. In both years, he went for at least 14 points, six assists, and two steals per game and was the back-to-back Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year.

Hicks will join the Celtics organization following two seasons each at Temple at Penn State, where he dropped 11.6 points per game as a senior on a 47.1% clip from the field and 41.3% from three-point range.

Yanic Konan Niederhauser is also expected to play in the Summer League after being drafted No. 30 overall by the Los Angeles Clippers as Penn State’s first-ever first-round pick.

The Summer League will be played in Las Vegas from July 10-20.
