Harrisburg High School To Retire Micah Parson’s Number

Penn State football legend Micah Parsons will have his No. 23 jersey retired by his alma mater, Harrisburg High School, on July 15. The ceremony will take place from 1:15 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Severance Stadium.

Parsons played both running back and defensive end at Harrisburg High School and was the No. 1 recruit in Pennsylvania when he committed to Penn State. He led the Cougars to a state championship runner-up in 2016 after transferring to the school in his junior year.

In his collegiate career, Parsons recorded 192 total tackles, 6.5 sacks, six forced fumbles, and 10 tackles for a loss over two seasons.

He was drafted No. 12 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys, Penn State’s first linebacker to be drafted in the first round since LaVar Arrington.

Parsons was the 2021 Defensive Rookie of the Year, selected to four Pro Bowls, and is a two-time first-team All-Pro selection. The Nittany Lion has 256 tackles, 172 solo, and 52.5 sacks in his four years in Dallas.
