Former Penn State Linebacker Jesse Luketa Signs With New England Patriots

Former Penn State linebacker Jesse Luketa has signed a one-year deal with the New England Patriots, the team announced Thursday.

Luketa was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He spent time on the practice squad before signing to the 53-man roster.

The 6’3″, 260-pound linebacker was signed by the Los Angeles Rams’ practice squad on November 18, 2025. In his NFL career, Luketa has played in 31 games with three starts, and recorded 31 tackles, three sacks, and one forced fumble.

Luketa played for Penn State from 2018-21, appearing in 47 games and recording 151 tackles and 11.5 tackles for loss. He was named to the All-Big Ten Third Team by the media in 2021.
