Onward State will be in the Media Center of the Willard Building for Wednesday’s involvement fair from 1 to 4 p.m. A handful of our editors will be there to talk about Onward State, our recruiting process, and what makes us unique.

So, if you have any questions about Onward State, stop by! Whether you just want to see who we are or want to fill out an application, we would love to meet you.

Folks interested in joining Onward State this semester should fill out our fall 2025 application by noon on Sunday, September 14. We can’t wait to hire a new group of talented writers, photographers, graphic designers, podcasters, and more.

You don’t have to be in the College of Communications to join Onward State; we have students from all degrees and majors. While we have talented alumni who have gone on to have successful journalism careers at the likes of The New York Times and Associated Press, we also have plenty of alumni who just wanted to help share Penn State’s story while they were here.

To put it simply, we are Penn State’s blog, covering everything at Penn State from athletics to news, politics, alumni features, and so much more.

If you write for Onward State, people will read it. If you take photos for Onward State, people will see them. If you make graphics for Onward State, people will see those, too. Our site brings in hundreds of thousands of views each week, with countless Penn Staters excited to read Onward State every day.
