Penn State Fact Or Myth? The HUB Seal Curse

If you are a Penn State student, you know the ins and outs of the HUB. But did you know that within one of Penn State’s most infamous buildings lies a curse that could change your Penn State career forever?

That’s right. The HUB seal curse. (dun, dun dun)

Located right in between Jamba Juice and the High School Musical Stairs, you can find our very own university’s seal lying on the floor.

The history behind this infamous curse was something that you might’ve learned from a Penn State campus tour guide or a friend who is paranoid about their well-being.

The advice they give is simple… “Don’t step on the seal.”

The seal is said to have negative superpowers, which may bring bad luck on an exam day or even delay your graduation! If you want to hear more about the curse and some real-life experiences that have happened to one of our former Onward State staffers, feel free to read here.

So, while the message may be simple, the effects are very real. Next time you are in the HUB, make sure to watch where you’re stepping. You just might graduate late, or worse, never make it to graduation…

Stay safe out there, folks!
