[Photo Story] Penn State vs. Villanova

Villanova made the trip from Philadelphia to Happy Valley as over 109,516 fans packed Beaver Stadium to watch Penn State put on a dominant performance in a 52-6 victory.

From big plays on both sides of the ball to electric moments that had the crowd on its feet, our photographers were on the sidelines capturing all the action as Penn State secured another home win.

The team arrived at Beaver Stadium in style with the Blue Band leading the way.

The Nittany Lions hit the field for warmups, locked in and ready to go.

The game opened with a 4-yard rushing touchdown by Nick Singleton minutes into the first quarter, giving Penn State an early 7-0 lead.

I’m talking bout innit.

Villanova tried to answer back, but Penn State’s defensive front applied steady pressure, forcing turnovers and keeping the Wildcats in check.

Penn State’s defense set the tone early, with Zion Tracy stopping a run in the backfield and Tony Rojas getting a big sack to end Villanova’s first drive.

Devonte Ross energized the crowd with a special teams reverse, and Drew Allar hit Trebor Peña for a 23-yard touchdown with 32 seconds left in the second quarter. A successful two-point conversion made it 21-0 at halftime.

Penn State’s defense stayed strong in the second half. Amare Campbell had a sack and Elliot Washington II grabbed his first interception of the season.

Singleton powered in for a short touchdown, and Kaytron Allen broke free for an 18-yard score to extend the lead.

Late in the game, Ethan Grunkemeyer hit Joey Schlaffer for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Ryan Barker was smooth as always, hitting all three field goals throughout the game.

Villanova finally found the board on the last play of the game, but the Nittany Lions walked off with a dominant 52-6 victory. The Nittany Lions will now shift their focus to Oregon on September 27th, as they look to keep the momentum rolling for the White Out game.
