Report: Former Penn State Football Linebacker Odafe Oweh Traded To Los Angeles Chargers

Former Penn State linebacker Odafe Oweh was traded to the Los Angeles Chargers on Tuesday afternoon, according to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport.

The Chargers received a seventh-round pick in addition to the 26-year-old pass rusher. In return, the Baltimore Ravens received safety Alohi Gilman and a 2026 fifth-round draft pick. The deal saves the Ravens, who sit at the bottom of the AFC North with a record of 1-4, $8 million in future cap space.

Oweh was drafted by the Ravens with the 31st pick back in 2021 and is scheduled to be a free agent after this season. During his five years in Baltimore, he racked up 148 total tackles, 23 sacks, and seven forced fumbles.

Coming off a season high of 10 sacks in 2024, Oweh has yet to tally one this season. Through five games with Baltimore, he accumulated just 10 total tackles. Now, he gets a fresh start in Los Angeles with hopes of helping improve the Chargers’ pass-rushing unit that has been without Khalil Mack since week three.

Oweh and the Chargers hit the road to take on the Miami Dolphins this Sunday at 1 p.m. in Hard Rock Stadium.
