[Photo Story] Penn State vs. UCLA

This one hurt, folks.

This weekend, Penn State traveled 2,561 miles to the historic Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California, to face UCLA. The Nittany Lions fell 42-37 to the Bruins, ultimately knocking them out of the AP Top 25.

Our photographers were on the scene to capture all the action.

The Rose Bowl Stadium was picture-perfect for gameday with its gorgeous mountain views.

Penn State arrived at the stadium about two hours before kickoff, taking in the views of Pasadena.

As the clock ticked down to kickoff, the Nittany Lions took the field for warm-ups.

Penn State walked out in traditional fashion, as the gameday atmosphere and California sun heated things up.

After UCLA opened with a touchdown and a field goal, Kaytron Allen put Penn State on the board with a 13-yard rushing touchdown.

The Good Year blimp even made an appearance.

After UCLA dominated the second quarter, the Bruins led 27-7 at halftime.

After struggling on both sides of the ball, Drew Allar was able to connect with Khalil Dinkins for a 40-yard passing touchdown, making the score 27-13.

Early in the fourth quarter, Allar broke loose on a 27-yard quarterback draw to UCLA’s 2-yard line, setting Allen up for the touchdown on the next play.

Allar showed off his running game, rushing for 78 yards on 11 carries.

With the last touchdown of the game, Allar found Kyron Hudson.

Despite Penn State’s efforts, the Nittany Lions fell short against the Bruins, with UCLA clenching the 42-37 win.
