[Photo Story] Penn State vs. Northwestern

We all know how this one turned out.
Penn State suffered a 22-21 loss to Northwestern this weekend at Beaver Stadium. Despite their efforts, the Nittany Lions’ late comeback attempt came up short. As usual, our photographers were there to capture all the action.
The Nittany Lions arrived at Beaver Stadium wearing black and pink hoodies for the Homecoming game, nodding to Penn State’s original colors.

Against beautiful Happy Valley skies, the Stripe Out looked clean for Penn State’s 105th homecoming game.

After Northwestern took a 3-0 lead by kicking a field goal, the Nittany Lions put themselves on the board with Kaytron Allen scoring a touchdown.

Penn State’s defense started to show its presence with Audavion Collins retaking possession of the ball at Northwestern’s 26-yard line.

Drew Allar, Allen, and Nick Singleton relied on their run game to move the ball down the field for the majority of the first half.

With 1:19 left in the first half, Singleton took a toss to the left and darted into the end zone for a two-yard touchdown, putting the Nittany Lions in the lead 16-14.

My oh my, the S-Zone looked beautiful.

With Penn State’s only second-half touchdown, Allar rushed into the end zone, putting the Nittany Lions ahead 21-6.

With only a few minutes left in the fourth quarter, Allar went down with an injury. Despite their best efforts, the Nittany Lions came up short of the win, falling 22-21 to the Wildcats.

Penn State is set to face off against the Iowa Hawkeyes at 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, at Kinnick Stadium.
