Week In Pictures: October 6-12

Folks, a lot can happen in a week.

From homecoming festivities to Nittany Lion victories and defeats, protests, and everything in between, our photographers were there for every moment. So, let’s take a look at what they captured this week.

October 6: To kick off Homecoming Week, students, alumni, and locals filled Allen Street for the annual Allen Street Jam.

October 7: Penn State Students for Justice in Palestine held a protest at Allen Street Gates. The participants were there to gather support for the people of Gaza.

October 7: Penn State Hillel and community members gathered at the Gutterman Family Center for a vigil in remembrance of the lives lost two years prior.

October 7: The annual “For the Glory” talent show showcased performances of student organizations across campus. And for the fourth year in a row, Urban Dance Troupe took home the crown.

October 8: No Refund Theatre brought their new show, “The Sugar Syndrome,” to the stage.

October 9: Penn State swimming and diving hosted St. Bonaventure in McCoy Natatorium.

October 9: Poppi’s Major Flavor Tour made its way to Penn State as part of four stops on college campuses around the country.

October 9: Women’s soccer fell to Washington, 1-0, in its annual pink match.

October 9: Leaves are changing, and the weather is dropping. Fall is finally here.

October 10: Freshman phenom Gavin McKenna made his Pegula Ice Arena debut as men’s hockey split a two-game series with Clarkson.

October 10: In a White Out crowd at Rec Hall, women’s volleyball stunned No. 7 Wisconsin with a three-set sweep.

October 10: To mark the end of Homecoming Week, ROTC members continued their Homecoming tradition by guarding the Lion Shrine.

October 10th: Members of the Homecoming Court wave to the crowd at the Homecoming Parade.

October 10: The fan favorite Bernese Mountain Dog Club of PA made its appearance, stealing hearts along the Homecoming parade route.

October 11: In yet another heartbreaking loss, Penn State football fell to Northwestern 22-21, making the Nittany Lions 3-3 on the season.

October 11: After 12 seasons as Penn State’s head football coach, James Franklin walked out of Beaver Stadium, unknowingly, for the final time.

October 12: Women’s soccer battled to a 2–2 draw against Oregon at Jeffrey Field.
