Nittany Lions In The NFL: Week Eight Roundup

With Penn State football on a bye this past weekend, folks had to turn to the NFL to watch their favorite Nittany Lions take the field.
In case you were unable to tune into the latest NFL action, let’s take a look at how some of our Penn State alums fared in week eight.
Micah Parsons, Green Bay Packers
Pass rusher Micah Parsons logged a sack and a solo tackle in the Packers’ 35-25 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football. Parsons ranks sixth in the NFL in sacks, with 6.5 through his seven outings.
Saquon Barkley, Philadelphia Eagles
For the first time this season, Saquon Barkley eclipsed the 100-yard rushing mark on Sunday. It’s been tough sledding through the first half of the season for the reigning Offensive Player of the Year, but Barkley ran for 150 yards on only 14 carries for an absurd 10.7 yards per carry during the Eagles’ 38-20 win over the New York Giants.
Just seven seconds into the game, Barkley broke off a 65-yard touchdown run against his former team. He found the end zone again in the second quarter, hauling in a 9-yard receiving touchdown to stamp his first multi-touchdown game of 2025.
Tyler Warren, Indianapolis Colts
Although his three-game touchdown streak came to an end on Sunday, Tyler Warren continued his strong rookie campaign, reeling in four of his five targets for a total of 53 yards in the Colts’ 38-14 handling of the Tennessee Titans.
Through eight weeks, the reigning Mackey Award winner leads all tight ends in receiving yards with 492.
Odafe Oweh, Los Angeles Chargers
Odafe Oweh continues to settle into his new home on the West Coast. The former Penn State outside linebacker registered three tackles and a sack for the Chargers in their 37-10 handling of the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday Night Football.
Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints
Juwan Johnson saw eight targets in the New Orleans Saints’ 23-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, bringing in five receptions for 53 yards.
Jahan Dotson, Philadelphia Eagles
Former Penn State pass catcher Jahan Dotson hauled in his first touchdown grab of the 2025 season during the Eagles’ 38-20 win over the New York Giants. His lone reception from Jalen Hurts went for 40 yards and a score.
Nick Scott, Carolina Panthers
Former Penn State defensive back Nick Scott racked up a season-high eight tackles in the Panthers’ 40-9 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
Ji’Ayir Brown, San Francisco 49ers
Ji’Ayir Brown logged five tackles in the 49ers’ 26-15 loss to the Houston Texans. This is Brown’s third straight game with five or more tackles.
