Penn State Women’s Hockey Goaltender Katie DeSa Earns AHA Goaltender Of The Week

For the third time this season, and the 12th time in her career, senior goaltender Katie DeSa has been named the Atlantic Hockey Association’s Goaltender of the Week.

DeSa earned back-to-back shutouts in her two starts this weekend against Robert Morris, stopping 31 shots. DeSa has put up spectacular stats in her ten games for the Nittany Lions this season, with a .947 save percentage, a 0.80 goals against average, and five shutouts. DeSa is now two shutouts shy of tying the program record for career shutouts at 20.

The Pawcatuck, Connecticut, native has been a massive piece of the Nittany Lions’ undefeated 12-0 record to start the season, in what has been their best start in program history.

The Nittany Lions will be back in action at home next Friday, November 14th, to take on Syracuse at 2 p.m.
