Former Penn State Football Safety Commit Darrell Carey Flips To Maryland

Former Penn State football class of 2026 three-star safety commit Darrell Carey has committed to Maryland, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Carey decommitted from the program on October 27.

Carey is ranked as the No. 17 player in Maryland, No. 49 safety in the class of 2026, and the No. 662 player in the nation, per the 247 Composite rankings.

Carey took an official visit with the Terps on Halloween. The Hyattsville, Maryland, native lands back home and is the fourth former Penn State pledge to flip their commitment following Franklin’s departure.
