Penn State Faculty File For Union Election

Penn State faculty members have filed to form a union with the Penn State Faculty Alliance (PSFA). The PSFA is affiliated with SEIU Local 668.

The filing is the largest union campaign in Pennsylvania’s public sector in decades, and will represent thousands of faculty across Penn State’s campuses.

The faculty is unionizing to “ensure investment in education and educators,” including job security, improved salaries, and negotiations for work conditions.

According to its website, the election is likely to be held in 2026, and it asks Penn State’s administration to “do the right thing” and not slow down the process.
