Penn State Football Adds Five Coaches For Matt Campbell’s Staff

Penn State football made five new additions to Matt Campbell’s coaching staff, Penn State Athletics announced Friday.
Skip Brabenec will join the Nittany Lions as the football chief of staff after spending 10 seasons with Iowa State as the assistant AD for football and chief of staff. He was also the chief of staff with Matt Campbell during the 2014 season at Toledo.
Aaron Hillmann joins Penn State as the director of sports performance operations. The former Iowa State man joined Campbell’s staff in Ames, Iowa, nine seasons ago. He was listed as the director of football performance operations on the Cyclones’ website.
The head strength and conditioning coach who will replace Chuck Losey will be Reid Kagy. He was with Iowa State for six total seasons, first from 2016 to 2018 and then again for the past three seasons. Kagy has also worked at Boise State.
Joining Kagy on the strength team is Brandon Pietrzyk, who will be the assistant strength and conditioning coach. He also spent the last three seasons in Ames and followed Kagy from Boise State.
Trent Slattenow is set to be the director of player personnel. He joined the Iowa State coaching staff four seasons ago, but also worked as a recruiting student assistant from 2018 to 2021.
Jack Griffith, Taylor Mouser, Ryan Clanton, Deon Broomfield, and Derek Hoodjer were also made official after they were reported to be heading to Penn State this week.
