Best Places To Put The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree On Campus

The holiday season is officially upon us, folks.
Some students have already made their descent from campus to start their winter break, while others are still in State College, crunching for final exams. The already beautiful campus has such a charming feeling to it during winter, and is prime real estate for some holiday decoration.
A few years ago, we brainstormed the best places to put the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree on campus in honor of the Rockefeller Center, using a tree from State College in 2017. This year, we came up with more ideas for the potential location of a grand Christmas tree on campus.
The HUB Lawn
One of the most popular spots on campus, there is always something going on in the hub. The lawn in front of the building is the perfect space for a large tree, and allows large crowds to take pictures as they do in New York City. It’s also in the center of campus, making it the perfect location for a Christmas Tree.

Library Entrance
Another popular spot, especially during finals week, would be a perfect spot for a Christmas tree of this size. People on their way to study for their finals will be filled with holiday cheer as they pass the glorious display of lights. It’s also a plus that the area is (loosely) fenced off, and people typically don’t walk on the grass.

Hintz Family Alumni Center
The Hintz Family Alumni Center is a seriously underrated, but picturesque location on campus. It’s truly a hidden gem that a tree such as this would certainly bring more attention to. It would also be a nice spot to add additional holiday lights and decorations to, which would be great to enjoy with a side of hot chocolate.

HUB Commons
An option where the tree can be appreciated from the warmth of the hub. Not as picturesque as some of the previous locations, but just as functional. This part of the hub certainly is tall enough to hold a giant tree, and can also be viewed from multiple levels of the building.

Arboretum
A more well-known hidden gem on campus, the arboretum is already full of various kinds of trees, so why not add one that can be decorated for the holiday season? There is so much space in the arboretum, and you would be able to see the tree from so many different angles and perspectives, just like you do in New York City. This is a very picturesque location, especially when it snows.
