Penn State Men’s Hockey’s Gavin McKenna To Be Featured In NHL 26 As Part Of World Juniors Collection

Ever wanted to play as a Penn State Nittany Lion in NHL 26? Well, folks, now you can!

As announced by EA Sports NHL on Monday, Penn State men’s hockey’s Gavin McKenna is part of a new collection in NHL 26’s Hockey Ultimate Team (HUT) game mode, where players can collect cards of their favorite players to build their own stacked team to play online.

The collection comprises four players who are slated to compete in the 2026 IIHF World Junior Championships in Minnesota, beginning on December 26. McKenna is joined by his Team Canada teammate and Michigan State forward Porter Martone, as well as American prospects James Hagans and Cole Eiserman. All four players are listed as 90 overall.

McKenna was previously playable as part of the Western Hockey League’s Medicine Hat Tigers, but was not included in NHL 26 due to the lack of a partnership between the NCAA and the NHL. He is the only Penn State athlete to be playable in this year’s edition.
