Report: Penn State Football Cornerback AJ Harris Plans To Enter Transfer Portal

Penn State football cornerback AJ Harris is expected to enter the transfer portal, according to a report from Blue White Illustrated. Harris is no longer listed on the Penn State roster. He has one year of eligibility remaining.
Harris joined the Nittany Lions in 2024 and has been a staple of the defense since. In 27 games with Penn State, he has 77 tackles, five tackles for loss, one fumble return, and one interception. The defensive back was voted All-Big Ten third-team by the coaches and media during his sophomore season.
The Phenix City, Alabama, native moved to Happy Valley after spending one season with Georgia. Harris was a highly recruited talent out of high school. He was ranked No. 3 at cornerback, No. 5 in the state, and No. 39 nationally by the 247Sports composite rankings. Harris was offered by Penn State but decided to join Fran Brown and Kirby Smart in Athens, Georgia.
The cornerback was given a first-round grade heading into the 2025 season, but inconsistent performances led to Harris dropping.
Harris is the fifth Nittany Lion to enter the transfer portal since the end of the 2025 season. He leaves a talented and young defensive back room with players like Daryus Dixson, Jahmir Josheph, and Kenny Woseley Jr. still on the roster.
