Original Post

Thirty-three players are listed as out for Penn State football’s matchup against the Clemson Tigers in the Pinstripe Bowl. The Nittany Lions were missing 24 players in their regular-season finale against Rutgers.

Quarterback Drew Allar is on the list again after he suffered a season-ending injury against Northwestern. Jaxon Smolik is also out due to his injury sustained in the Iowa game. Bekkem Kritza will serve as the backup quarterback, with Liam Clifford serving as the emergency quarterback once again.

Nick Singleton will not play in the bowl game after declaring for the NFL Draft. His counterpart, Kaytron Allen, is listed as questionable on the injury report.

Wide receivers Kaden Saunders, Josiah Brown, and Peter Gonzalez will remain unavailable against the Tigers. Tight end Khalil Dinkins opted out of the bowl game.

On the offensive line, Brady O’Hara, Owen Aliciene, and Liam Horan are out. Starting offensive linemen Nick Dawkins, Drew Shelton, Vega Ioane, and Nolan Rucci opted out of the bowl game on Friday. Shelton and Ioane have declared for the NFL Draft. Alex Birchmeier announced his intentions to enter the transfer portal earlier in the month.

On the defensive line, Max Granville, Mason Robinson, Kaleb Artis, and Jordan Mayer remain out for the Nittany Lions. Defensive end Bobby Mears also joins his teammates in the out column. Notable defensive linemen Zane Durant and Zuriah Fisher opted out of the bowl game. Durant has declared for the NFL Draft, while Fisher left the program. Freshmen edge rushers Daniel Jennings and Chaz Coleman plan to enter the transfer portal and will not play.

The linebacker room remains thin as Alex Tatsch, Kari Jackson, and Jackson Pryts join Tony Rojas on the inactive list.

The Penn State secondary will look a bit different in its final game of the season as cornerbacks A.J. Harris and Elliot Washington II have announced their intentions to enter the transfer portal. Two-year starting safety Zakee Wheatley has declared for the NFL Draft. Safety Antoine Belgrave-Shorter and cornerbacks Xxavier Thomas and Donte Nastasi will also be out.
