Report: Former Iowa State Quarterback Rocco Becht Transfers To Penn State Football

Former Iowa State quarterback Rocco Becht has committed to Penn State football out of the transfer portal, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.

As a high school prospect, Becht was ranked the No. 33 quarterback in the country, the No. 76 player in Florida, and the No. 572 player in the country according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. The redshirt senior is a native of Zephyrhills, Florida. He has one year of eligibility remaining.

Becht joins the Nittany Lions after starting three seasons at Iowa State. He finished his Cyclones career with 9,274 passing yards, 64 passing touchdowns, and 27 interceptions, on 1177 attempts. He added 499 yards and 19 rushing touchdowns on the ground.

The quarterback’s best season was in 2024 when he threw for 3,505 yards and 25 touchdowns in an 11-3 season with Iowa State. He was given Honorable Mention All-Big 12 honors as well as Pop-Tarts Bowl MVP that season.

Pete Thamel reported Becht’s plan to enter the transfer portal on December 20 after much speculation that new Penn State head coach Matt Campbell would try to pull his former signal caller to Happy Valley.
