Report: Iowa State Running Back Carson Hansen Transfers To Penn State Football

Former Iowa State running back Carson Hansen has committed to Penn State football out of the transfer portal, he announced on Sunday.
Hansen was a three-star recruit out of Lakeville South High School in Minnesota, ranked No. 6 in the state, according to 247Sports’ Composite rankings. He was named Minnesota’s Gatorade Player of the Year in 2021 and 2022.
The 6’2″ junior has been with the Cyclones since 2023 and joins the Nittany Lions with one year of eligibility remaining. Hansen has 361 career carries for 1,771 yards and 19 touchdowns, as well as 43 receptions for 337 yards and two touchdowns. This past season, Hanson neared the 1,000 rushing yard mark, finishing with 952.
Hansen joins a slew of former Cyclones as he heads to Happy Valley under head coach Matt Campbell.
