Former Iowa State Wide Receiver Karon Brookins Transfers To Penn State Football

Three-star wide receiver Karon Brookins has committed to transfer to Penn State football, he announced Sunday night. Brookins follows head coach Matt Campbell over from Iowa State.

Brookins was a three-star recruit, ranked as the No. 221 wide receiver and No. 43 player from New Jersey, according to the 247Sports’ composite rankings. He is the 120th-best wide receiver available as a transfer, per the same site.

The wide receiver originally chose Iowa State over Pitt, Temple, and West Virginia. He entered the transfer portal on December 8.

Brookins was with the Cyclones for one season, but preserved his redshirt and did not see any game action.

The 6’5″, 200-pound receiver has four years of eligibility left. He is the 14th player from transfer to Happy Valley from Iowa State, and the 12th to commit on Sunday alone.
