Former Iowa State Wide Receiver Chase Sowell Transfers To Penn State Football

Former Iowa State wide receiver Chase Sowell has committed to Penn State football out of the transfer portal, he announced on Instagram Monday morning.

As a high school prospect, Sowell was ranked the No. 172 wide receiver and the No. 191 player in Texas, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. The redshirt junior is a native of Humble, Texas.

After starting his career at Colorado, Sowell transferred to East Carolina, where he spent two seasons before transferring again to Iowa State.

In his lone season with the Cyclones, Sowell hauled in a program-leading 32 catches for 500 yards and two touchdowns.

Sowell is the second former Iowa State receiver to join Penn State from the transfer portal, joining Brett Eskildsen.
