Report: Former Penn State Football Safety Antoine Belgrave-Shorter Transfers To Arizona State

Former Penn State football safety Antoine Belgrave-Shorter has signed with to Arizona State, per CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz. He has three years of eligibility remaining.

Belgrave-Shorter was initially a three-star recruit in the Class of 2024 out of Jacksonville, Florida, ranked as the No. 61 cornerback and No. 97 player in the state, according to 247Sports’ Composite rankings. He switched to safety upon arriving on campus.

He played seven games as a true freshman in 2024, but was still able to maintain his redshirt due to only playing in four regular-season games. After mostly playing special teams and in blowouts, he won a starting job prior to the 2025 season alongside Zakee Wheatley. James Franklin and the coaching staff raved about his ability to produce turnovers.

Belgrave-Shorter started the first two games of the season, but moved into a rotation with King Mack from the Villanova game onward. He last played in the team’s near-upset of Indiana before missing the final four games, entering the transfer portal after the Pinstripe Bowl. He made 14 tackles in 16 career games.

Belgrave-Shorter is the fourth Nittany Lion safety to find a new home in the transfer portal, joining Dejuan Lane, Kolin Dinkins, and Mack.
