Power Ranking THON 2026 Line Dance Lyrics

Another year, another Line Dance to memorize.
THON 2026 officially kicked off Friday night with Dancer Relations captains taking the stage to debut the newest rendition. From “Dancing With The Stars” to Pope Leo, this year’s line dance is packed with notable Penn State moments, pop culture references, world events, and inspirational THON messages.
We ranked our top 10 favorite lyrics heard during this year’s line dance. Which one is your favorite?
No. 10: Pixel world, Steve’s all blocky // Hold on, watch out, chicken jockey!
The “Minecraft Movie” was one of the biggest trends of 2025, with Jack Black’s delivery of “‘Chicken Jockey!” going viral on just about every platform. Shout out to our Dancer Relations captains for warning us about any potential baby zombies riding chickens in the BJC. I knew that chicken basket I had earlier tasted off.
No. 9: Reaching flow state scrolling reels // LeBron edits, a big deal
You best believe that dancers will take the first half of this lyric to heart when they arrive back at their beds after standing for 46 hours. No matter if it’s TikTok, YouTube Shorts, or Instagram reels, at the end of the day, screen time is just a number. Of course, if you scroll long enough, you’re bound to encounter an edit of LeBron James. Savor the greatness, because the King’s NBA career is coming to a close.
No. 8: Hockey Valley turf meets ice // Benny’s pizza, one big slice
Commemorating the historic sporting event of not one, not two, but three Penn State Hockey teams taking the ice at the center of Beaver Stadium was a no-brainer. But, tying it with a bar about downtown pizza shop Benny Leone’s was slick. However, teasing hangry dancers with the thought of indulging in a gargantuan, hot slice of pizza could be considered insensitive.
No. 7: On the mat, four straight wins // Swoosh is out, stripes are in
Penn State’s wrestling team certainly receives no shortage of praise, but winning the National Championship four times in a row calls for bragging rights. There’s nothing controversial about highlighting Cael Sanderson’s dominant program, but Penn State’s decision to drop Nike for Adidas sparked a storm of discussion within the community. The boatload of money from Adidas certainly doesn’t hurt, but time will tell whether the change was for the better.
No. 6: BJC, let’s hear you roar // Hand-in-hand, take the floor
The opening lyric to this year’s line dance reiterates that THON indeed takes everyone. No role is too big or too small, which is why together, hand-in-hand, we take the floor by storm for 46 hours!
No. 5: Grab my hand – let’s take flight // With our diamonds shining bright
This lyric symbolizes THON 2026’s official logo, which features two figures riding a paper airplane. You might get tired in these next 46 hours, but allow your diamond to shine bright by grabbing your neighbor’s hand and dancing!
No. 4: Campbell- joins the crew // Terry Smith, we thank you
Despite Penn State football’s disastrous 2025-26 season, the program has found stability under new head coach Matt Campbell. Still, one man played a major role in navigating the turbulent journey: none other than interim head coach Terry Smith. The man has earned his flowers.
No. 3: Conrad endgame, save the date // Upside down, close the gate
Back-to-back references to the iconic finales of “The Summer I Turned Pretty” and “Stranger Things 5”? Well done, dancer relations, well done. Belly finally chose Conrad after years of flip-flopping between him and his brother, Jeremiah, a decision the internet had long yearned for. While “Stranger Things 5” also generated heavy online engagement, folks did not appreciate the ending, which was both heartbreaking and heartwarming. The gate is closed, but did Eleven survive? Maybe she’s alive somewhere in the BJC and is the one closing all of these section portals, preventing me from refilling my water bottle.
No. 2: B-dubs, wings to go // There’s a car in Trader Joe’s
Acknowledging two of the most hectic Penn State moments in the past calendar year in the same lyrics is no easy feat. The opening of one of the largest chicken chains in America, which met hungry Penn Staters with hour-long wait times, and the debacle of a person crashing their vehicle into the Trader Joe’s storefront were easily among the most unhinged moments to grace State College in the past calendar year, so it’s no surprise they made the THON 2026 line dance. This one just might be higher on the restaurant-mishap lyric scale than 2024’s “Waffle Shop, burning hot.”
No. 1: Lead with love, ignite the spark // All as one we leave our mark
While it might be last as the closing line, this lyric is certainly not least. It conveys a message of unity against pediatric cancer, THON’s ultimate goal, and also calls us to follow our hearts. Leading with love is the single most effective way to defeat evil, and doing so together makes us all the more capable of leaving our mark as Penn Staters and THONers.
